ASCP Endorses New York State Legislative Briefing on Jan. 27 on Precision Medicine and Biomarker Testing in Oncology

A recent New York state legislative that briefing that sought to raise awareness among state legislators and staff about the importance of biomarker testing in patient access to the latest and highest-quality treatments received an endorsement from ASCP and the ASCP Board of Certification. 

This Jan. 28 briefing covered precision medicine across multiple cancer types. Aims included the discussion of recent advances in precision medicine in cancer and the sharing of success stories and patient examples of timely and accurate biomarker testing and precision medicine access. The briefing was jointly sponsored by the American Cancer Society, NCCN, CSC, LUNGevity and The Empire State Hematology/Oncology Society, and is part of a strategy to host educational events across the country to raise awareness around precision medicine and the importance of biomarker testing.
