CDC LOCS Lab Advisory: CDC Updates Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines and Questions & Answers

CDC recently updated the Interim Laboratory Biosafety Guidance for Handling and Processing Specimens Associated with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the Frequently Asked Questions about COVID-19 for Laboratories. In these updates, laboratory professionals can find biosafety guidance for anatomic pathology and point-of-care tests. The laboratory questions-and-answers page has been updated to include information about anatomic pathology, molecular transport media, and cell lines for respiratory virus cultures.
