Society of Hematopathology Quarterly Case:Indolent T-cell: Lymphoproliferative Disorder of the Gastrointestinal Tract

Intended Audience: Pathologists, Pathology residents, and Laboratory Professionals

This case of the quarter will educate the participant how to identify the recently recognized 2016 WHO entity, indolent T cell lymphoproliferative disorder of the gastrointestinal tract (T-LPD of the GI tract). The case presentation will include a discussion of the typical clinical, endoscopic, morphologic, immunophenotypic and molecular findings of T-LPD of the GI tract and the features that help distinguish it from more aggressive T and T/NK cell lymphomas.

Upon completion of the T-LPD of the GI Tract COQ, the learner will be able to: 

  • Recognize and describe the typical morphologic and immunophenotypic findings of T- LPD of the GI tract.
  • Describe the clinical features of T-LPD of the GI Tract.
  • Describe how T-LPD of the GI tract differs from more aggressive T and T/NK cell neoplasms.
