General Information:

The faculty will examine diagnostic criteria for common yet challenging breast lesions and provide you with invaluable guidance for dealing with problematic diagnoses, understanding the management implications of recent approaches to the evaluation and diagnosis of breast lesions, keeping pace with new developments, including molecular sub classification of invasive breast cancer, and more. You are invited to bring your difficult cases to discuss with the faculty.

Topics will include these and other crucial areas currently identified as practice gaps for which meeting participants eagerly seek to advance their knowledge:


  • Intraductal and lobular lesions: precursors and in-situ carcinomas
  • Microinvasive carcinoma and mimics
  • Papillary and columnar cell lesions
  • The CAP DCIS checklist and methods for measuring the extent of DCIS
  • Invasive carcinoma: diagnosis, molecular classification, grading and special types
  • Examination of sentinel lymph nodes
  • Specimen handling after neoadjuvant chemotherapy
  • Breast imaging for the pathologist—diagnostic core biopsy: imaging correlation and clinical management
