Physician Practice Collaboration: An Alternative to Merger and Acquisition While Providing Big Data

If independent pathology practices want to maintain their competitive position by their ability to deliver healthcare locally, they must be able to provide Big Data information to their facilities and health systems. Historically, cost has been the greatest hindrance to entry by small independent practices into the Big Data realm. In a blog on ONELab, Keith E. Chew, MHA, CMPE, FRBMA, and Jennifer Small discuss how the collaboration model allows independent practices to avoid the commoditization that naturally follows corporate practices. They will present an American Pathology Foundation (APF) session on this topic at ASCP 2017.
