Intended Audience: Pathologists, Residents, Pathologist Assistants, Cytotechnologists

Through a discussion of known challenging cases and Pap test interpretations, this eCourse presents a comprehensive explanation of how to approach such cases and determine the related clinical management implications. Cytologists constantly have to make judgment calls as to the best interpretation of atypical cells on a Pap test (conventional and liquid based preparations). Some decisions greatly influence patient treatment and others do not, differentiating between the two can greatly ease diagnostic anxiety.
Specific diagnostic challenges covered in the eCourse include:
- Immature squamous metaplasia vs ASC-H vs HSIL
- Repair vs AGUS after conization
- Normal vs atypical endometrial cells
- ASC vs LSIL
- Radiation atypia vs recurrent carcinoma
