    ASCP, Laboratory Community Anxiously Awaiting PFS/OPPS Final Rules
    ASCP and the rest of the laboratory community are anxiously awaiting the release of the CY 2014 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS)/Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) and Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) Final Rules. By statute, these rules are supposed to be published 60 days before their Jan.1, 2014 implementation date. However, the shutdown of the federal government complicated the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) ability to roll-out these rules on time. Read more

    ASCP will join forces with the California Society of Pathologists to present a symposium, "Choosing Wisely: How California Pathologists Can Influence Appropriate Testing," on Dec. 7 in San Francisco, featuring experts in test utilization and ASCP’s recommendations as part of its participation in the Choosing Wisely campaign.     ASCP Membership Benefits Enhance Professional Development

    ASCP is introducing a new journal app for 2014, which allows pathologist members the flexibility of receiving the Society’s periodicals on their cell phones or tablets. Digital versions of AJCP and Critical Values will be available for Apple and Android-based devices. Pathologists also have the option of receiving a copy of the journal in the mail. To select both, they would simply pay an additional $20.   Read more
