American Society for Clinical Pathology

The ASCP recognizes excellence through prestigious annual awards given to pathologists and laboratory professionals. Laboratory professionals awards are presented at the ASCP Leadership Exchange.

ASCP Mastership
This award serves to recognize those distinguished members who have made significant contributions to the field of pathology and laboratory medicine and to the ASCP. Eligibility is based on years of ASCP membership, significant career accomplishments, and contributions to the Society and to the profession.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Laboratory professional members who have demonstrated a commitment to the profession through work, attitude, and Society activities over their careers are honored with this award.

Excellence in Management Award
Laboratory professional members actively engaged in laboratory management or supervision who have demonstrated effective leadership skills and management strategies regarding personnel, finance, and operations are recognized with this award.

Excellence in Education Award
Laboratory professional members who are actively involved in a medical laboratory education program and demonstrating outstanding performance in teaching through work in the classroom or clinic, or through the development of effective teaching methods and instructional materials are recognized with this award.

Regional Member Award
Laboratory professional members who promote and enhance the field of laboratory medicine through their contributions at the local level receive this award. One recipient is selected annually from each of the eight national regions.

ASCP Ambassador Program
The American Society for Clinical Pathology Ambassador Program aims to raise awareness of the laboratory professions among high school students. Up to 10 newly certified laboratory professionals will be selected as ASCP Ambassadors to share their personal stories about why they became laboratory professionals.

2009 ASCP Regional Member Awards
The ASCP established the Regional Member Awards in 1993 as a way to recognize laboratory professional members for their commitment to the profession - a commitment demonstrated through their work and their outstanding service in support of ASCP activities on a local level.
