MT & CLS Laboratory Certification Agencies Agree to Unite
September 5, 2008—It's likely to be a welcome development for Medical Technologists (MTs) and Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLSs). Two credentialing bodies that certify medical technologists and laboratory scientists have agreed to unite. The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry in Chicago, Illinois, and The National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel in Lenexa, Kansas, announced a letter of intent last week to form a unified credentialing agency. more...


DeVry University Begins New Clinical Lab Science Degree Program in Arizona
September 18, 2008—Addressing a shortage of skilled clinical laboratory scientists in the state of Arizona, DeVry University began teaching classes for a new bachelor's degree program in Clinical Laboratory Science at its Phoenix campus in September. DeVry University's Clinical Laboratory Science program is one of only two bachelor's degree programs of its kind offered in Arizona. more...

2009–2010 Resident Council Subspecialty Grants
The ASCP is currently offering resident grants during the academic year 2009-2010 to defray the cost of doing elective rotations at outside institutions in fields of pathology in which the resident desires intensive exposure. The ASCP grant will provide either a $1000 or $2000 stipend depending on the length of study. more...
