American Society for Clinical Pathology - ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Board of Governors

The ASCP Board of Certification develops, establishes and maintains standards and procedures for individuals to enter, continue and/or advance in a career in medical laboratory science, and then certifies those individuals who meet the required criteria. The ASCP Board of Certification maintains a roster of certificants. The certification functions of the ASCP Board of Certification is governed by a Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors shall be composed of the following:

Five Fellows of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
Five Laboratory Professional Members of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
Four representatives of the ASCLS
Two representatives of the AGT
One representative from each Participating Society
One public representative
One immediate past chair (if appropriate)
