CheckSample Microbiology 2009

A monthly self-study that features learning objectives on the detection, identification, epidemiology, taxonomic updates, clinical relevance and antimicrobial susceptibility of common and fastidious microorganisms. Methods of detection and identification include both classic methods and newer molecular-based technologies.

You'll receive:
A monthly case history (8 in total) for all exercises and, when appropriate, laboratory data and images of the X-ray findings, culture plates, and stains. References include classic treatments as well as recent publications on the topic. CME documentation questions allow readers to synthesize what they have read and obtain credit for participating in each CheckSample exercise.

The ASCP is accredited by the ACCME to provide CME for physicians. The ASCP designates these educational activities for a maximum of 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activities.

Effective 2009, these activities meet MOC Part II SAMs requirements.
