“The Best Annual Meeting Ever”
ASCP’s 2009 Annual Meeting in Chicago had something for everyone. About 1,200 attendees took advantage of continuing education programs for pathologists and laboratory professionals, a professional development program for residents, over 20 career fair booths for job hunters, as well as a sold-out exhibit floor. Hot topic sessions covered lessons learned from the spring 2009 H1N1 outbreak and new guidelines for hormone receptor testing. Leaders of the profession received the Society’s most prestigious awards. ASCP volunteers enjoyed the opportunity to conduct Society business, meet continuing education requirements, and catch up with colleagues and friends. The Opening Luncheon featured presentations by outgoing ASCP President Barbara J. McKenna, MD, FASCP, and incoming President Mark H. Stoler, MD, FASCP, and entertainment by Chicago’s famed comedy troupe Second City, setting the tone for a fun-filled and informative meeting. The Halloween-themed Opening Reception captured the spirit of the meeting.
Did you know that you can watch daily videos from the meeting? ASCP’s Annual Meetings just keep getting better. Watch for additional programs and special events planned for the 2010 meeting, October 27-31 in San Francisco, and the 2011 meeting, October 19-23 in Las Vegas, in conjunction with the XXVI World Congress of the World Association of Societies of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (WASPaLM). ASCP thanks all attendees, members, faculty, volunteers, staff, family and friends for helping make this annual meeting the best one ever.
ASCP gratefully acknowledges the generous support of its 2009 ASCP Annual Meeting corporate supporters:
