As the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Director at National American University, Kansas City, Mo., Terrie D. Simons, EJD, C(ASCP), teaches her students to view themselves as professionals who are an essential part of the healthcare team dedicated to serving the needs of their patients. In 2011, she was one of eight ASCP Local Representatives who received ASCP Regional Member Awards for promoting the laboratory profession.
