Diagnostic Accuracy
Speaker: Martin H. Kroll, MD, FASCP
Content Area: Chemistry
Description: Pathologists and laboratory professionals can play a big role in cost containment and improving the quality of patient care by interpreting which new tests are useful for clinical use. One needs experience with tests for diagnostic accuracy (evidence-based medicine), such as ROC curves, odds ratios and relative risk to confidently interpret the clinical utility of new tests. The FDA requires such information with submissions. This session will provide the participant with the experience necessary to interpret the tests of diagnostic accuracy.
