Vote Expected Soon on House Medicare Bill!

Urgent: Help Repeal Competitive Bidding, Fix Medicare

ASCP and the Laboratory Community Need Your Help to Fix Medicare, Repeal Competitive Bidding

In the next few days, the Senate is expected to vote on the House-passed Medicare bill, HR 6331. Besides reversing a 10.6 percent cut in the physician fee schedule, the measure repeals competitive bidding, lifts the freeze on the clinical laboratory fee schedule and extends the technical component (TC) grandfather provisions. The American Society for Clinical Pathology is encouraging its entire membership and others in the laboratory community to contact their Senators to urge their support of the House Medicare Bill when it comes up for consideration, possibly this Saturday.

To send a letter to your Senators, please click on the link for the ASCP eAdvocacy Center. Your action on this issue should only take a few short minutes and could be the key in repealing competitive bidding, lifting the freeze on the clinical laboratory fee schedule and reversing the 10.6 percent cut in the Medicare physician fee schedule.
