Need CME Credits for MOC Part II?

You must earn and document 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per year toward your Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II lifelong learning requirements for each two-year period in the MOC cycle. Eighty percent (80%) of your CME requirement must be directly related to your particular practice. The remainder may be in areas of general relevance.

All ASCP CME activities have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit and be used to meet MOC requirements. Choose from meetings and conferences and self-study programs that include:

  • Courses at the ASCP Annual Meeting – Every year, you’ll find nearly 100 educational sessions in surgical pathology, clinical pathology, cytopathology, and practice management that offer CME and CME/SAM credits you can use to meet your MOC requirements.
  • Other meetings and conferences – Choose from an extensive menu of multi-day courses led by experts in surgical, cytologic, and clinical pathology.
  • Teleconferences – Every Spring and Fall, ASCP offers a menu of live teleconferences for lab teams led by world-class experts in nearly every pathology specialty. On-demand Webcasts are available, too.
  • Online learning – ASCP offers a wide range of elearning programs that offer CME and CME/SAM credits.

Need CME/SAM Credits for MOC Part II?

You know that you need to earn 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ every year, including 10 CME/SAM credits by completing self-assessment modules. The objective of these self-assessment modules is to provide you with an opportunity to self-assess and practical information you can apply in your daily practice.

ASCP Self-Assessment Modules offer 1 CME/SAM credit per hour of activity. Each program includes a pre- and post-test, in addition to educational content. When you complete the post-test, you can earn your credit and print your certificate immediately. Following are some of the tools that ASCP offers for CME/SAM credits:

Need Quality Assurance Programs for MOC Part IV?

According to American Board of Pathology (ABP) Part IV Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements, you must document participation in at least one laboratory performance improvement and quality assurance activity or program every year.

Glass Slide Assessment Programs At A-Glance

  • ASCP GYN Assessment 2009 – A yearlong program that includes a total of 15 glass slide cases and educational material designed to assess your interpretive skills in gynecologic cytopathologic testing.
  • ASCP Non-GYN Assessment 2009 - A yearlong program that includes a total of 20 glass slide cases and educational material designed to assess your interpretive skills in non-gynecologic cytopathology.
  • ASCP FNB Site-Specific Assessment – A yearlong program that includes 24 cases and educational material related to specific body sites.
  • ASCP CheckPath Anatomic Pathology – A yearlong program that includes 20 cases presenting neoplastic and nonneoplastic surgical cases.
  • ASCP CheckPath Hematopathology – A yearlong program that includes 20 cases presenting a spectrum of diagnostic entities in hematopathology.
