News
In March, Dr. E. Blair Holladay, SCT(ASCP)CM, Vice President for Scientific Activities, ASCP and Executive Director of the Board of Certification (formerly the Board of Registry), visited Jamaica. Dr. Holladay met with the prospective members of the Jamaican Advisory Board at the Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay along with Members of the Jamaica Branch of the Caribbean Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (CASMET). Dr. Holladay gave a very informative presentation on the benefits of ASCPi certification to the group. The presentation was well received and helped to provide much needed information for the group. This trip by Dr. Holladay was the first face-to-face meeting with the appointed Liaison/Chairman of the ASCP Jamaica Advisory Board and prospective board members as well as the local Association of Medical Laboratory Professionals. Prospective Board Members felt better informed and motivated to sign on to facilitate plans for moving forward with international certification for Professionals in Jamaica.
