William G. Finn, MD, FASCP, received his bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology and his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, Mich. He completed his residency and subspecialty training in hematopathology at Northwestern University School of Medicine, Chicago. Dr. Finn has served as faculty at Northwestern University and at the University of Michigan, where he most recently served as Associate Director of Clinical Laboratories. In January 2012, he became the Medical Director of Warde Medical Laboratory/ Michigan Co-tenancy Laboratory, Ann Arbor, and joined the medical staff of the St. Joseph Mercy Health System.
Dr. Finn has been an active member of ASCP since 1990. He has served on the ASCP Board of Directors since 2007 and is currently Vice President of ASCP. He has also been a member of the American Journal of Clinical Pathology Editorial Board since 2006, and served as Assistant Editor of LabMedicine from 2004 to 2012. In addition, he has also been active on several ASCP committees and task forces and served as Chair of the Commission on Membership. Dr. Finn has served in leadership roles in other medical societies, including the Society for Hematopathology and the International Society for Laboratory Hematology. He is also a past President of the Michigan Society of Pathologists.
