Call for Applications and Nominations of LabMedicine Editorial Board

ASCP is accepting applications and nominations for the Editorial Board of LabMedicine, the ASCP journal for clinical laboratory professionals. The journal is undergoing significant redesign in response to readership surveys and under the leadership of its new Editor-in-Chief, Roger Bertholf, PhD.
LabMedicine is recruiting an Editorial Board structured to provide expert review of manuscripts submitted for publication in each of the eight subspecialties of medical laboratory practice recognized by the ASCP Board of Certification:

- Transfusion Medicine
- Molecular Biology
We seek an Associate Editor in each subspecialty. The Associate Editors and Editor-in-Chief will comprise the Editorial Board of LabMedicine, which will meet periodically to review the status and future directions of the journal and website, focusing primarily on strategies that will enhance the value to clinical laboratory professionals. Associate Editors will also have the responsibility to assign reviewers for submitted manuscripts in their specialty and to invite timely and relevant submissions to LabMedicine both in print and online. Associate Editors will also direct the online content of specialty areas on the website.
In addition to appointing Associate Editors, we seek nominations for several Assistant Editors in each subspecialty who will agree to review six to eight papers per year and provide essential feedback to their Associate Editor that will enhance the representation of their subspeciality in the journal. They will also assist the Associate Editor in their specialty area to recruit and manage content on the relevant specialty area of the website.
Associate and Assistant Editors, should hold managerial, supervisory, or director-level laboratory positions. They should also have prior experience in publications. These positions hold a three-year renewable term.
