Current Responsibilities: Dr. Amy L. Thompson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Austin Peay State University, where she currently teaches and advises pre-professional health majors. She is active in the pre-professional health program at APSU forging relationships between the university and the greater medical community.
Education: Dr. Thompson earned her PhD from the University of Kentucky in the Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology and her B.S. from Austin Peay State University in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Research: Focuses on brown recluse spider bite treatment and she recently published in Laboratory Medicine on this topic. She is also working on a collaborative project looking at the role of various professionals in disaster response.
