• summarize the clinical features of Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis.
• discuss the histopathologic features of Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis.
• describe the currently proposed pathogenesis of Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis.
• differentiate Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis from malignant lymphoma as well as from other types of necrotizing lymphadenitis.
• describe the role of ancillary studies and laboratory tests, if any, in the diagnosis of Kikuchi histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis.

• delineate the clinical manifestation of the hyperviscosity syndrome associated with lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma/Waldenström macroglobulinemia.
