Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • discuss the existence of histiocytic tumors in patients with a history of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
  • describe the clonal relationship between the preceding leukemia and the subsequent histiocytic tumor.
  • describe the diagnostic features of histiocytic neoplasms, in particular histiocytic sarcoma.
  • delineate the various histologies of histiocytic tumors following acute lymphoblastic leukemia—from clinically benign tumors to aggressive neoplasms.
