• list causes of wheezing other than asthma.
• describe the characteristic features of asthma as seen on gross and microscopic examination of the lungs.
• explain the difference in treatment of status asthmaticus as opposed to treatment of asthma.
• describe the characteristic features of rheumatic heart disease as seen on gross and microscopic examination of the heart.
