Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • describe the various clinical outcomes that follow acute exposure to hepatitis B virus (HBV).
  • differentiate serologic patterns associated with different categories of hepatitis B infection.
  • discuss the impact of chemotherapy and immunosuppression on HBV expression.
  • compare the similarities and differences between seroreversion and reactivation of hepatitis B.
  • develop appropriate testing algorithms to detect persons at risk for HBV reactivation/seroreversion.
