Fast-paced changes in classification systems and the evaluation of emerging ancillary diagnostic tools make it increasingly necessary – and challenging – to keep pace with every area of surgical pathology. This practical three-day Course will provide you with helpful diagnostic pathways and hints for meeting new challenges and solving problematic cases.

Presentations by the distinguished faculty will answer your questions and instill confidence in your ability to diagnose challenging cases.

The wide-ranging, practical content will include

  • Coverage of a variety of subspecialty pathologic conditions that often pose problems in interpretation and classification, including GYN, thyroid, thoracic, GI, head and neck, and hematopathology
  • The latest information about diverse pathologic conditions in surgical pathology
  • Answers to practical questions about communicating with treating physicians
  • Hints for addressing complicating factors in arriving at appropriate diagnoses
  • New developments in diagnostic tools, including immunohistochemistry studies and molecular markers

Glass slides illustrate each entity. Six cases representing each subspecialty will be presented, including respective ancillary studies and differential diagnosis, as well as clinical and treatment implications. Microscopes will be available for use throughout the course, including optional evening independent study. You are invited to participate in discussions and interact with faculty.

You will receive a complimentary manual. An optional pre- and post-Course assessment is included.

Following this course, you will be able to:

  • Diagnose challenging tumoral and pseudotumoral conditions
  • Evaluate and interpret ancillary studies related to diagnosis
  • Describe and apply the current classification systems

The ASCP designates these educational activities for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activities.
