ASCP 2014

ASCP 2014 is an exciting, multi-day event for education and collegial exchange among the entire laboratory team. The foundation of the meeting is robust educational programming offering new and distilled information balanced with core knowledge to encourage the rapid translation of scientific research into the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine. Meeting participants will experience the Society's value as a collaborative policy builder, influential thought leader and promoter of safe and effective patient care throughout the world.


Purpose of this Call

ASCP is committed to providing needs-based education that is:

  • Progressive, relevant, and timely
  • Independent of commercial interests
  • Built to foster changes in knowledge, competence and performance to ultimately improve patient outcomes

To help fulfill these goals, ASCP develops educational programming for its Annual Meeting by issuing this Call for New Educational Proposals to pathology and laboratory medicine professionals and industry partners around the world. All new proposals for educational sessions (i.e., courses, symposia, workshops, tutorials, and so on) for ASCP 2014 must be submitted through this Call site.

NOTE: A separate call will be issued for submission of scientific and lab practice poster abstracts beginning in January 2014. Watch for announcements on ascp.org.


“Beyond the Lab”

ASCP 2014 will universally incorporate the meeting theme throughout its educational programming and other meeting events and activities. Completed proposals are encouraged to consider how the meeting theme can be incorporated into the presentation. Download the Guidelines and Instructions for more information.


2014 High Interest Topics

ASCP encourages the submission of educational topic suggestions and proposals related to ANY ASPECT OF THE SCIENCE AND PRACTICE OF PATHOLOGY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE. All submissions will be reviewed according to a standard set of criteria as specified in the Guidelines and Instructions. For 2014, the ASCP is highly interested in receiving ideas and proposals offering educational programming in these focus areas:

  • Enhancing Pathologists' Role in the Clinical Team
  • Global Healthcare Issues
  • Molecular Pathology
  • Precision Diagnostics – Personalized Medicine
  • Informational Technology

Industry-Supported Education

ASCP welcomes proposal submissions from industry supporters at ASCP 2014 Tampa. The submission process for industry supporters is currently separate from this website. Email annualmeeting@ascp.org for more information.
