For the past two years, ASCP has been working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop a laboratory accreditation scheme for laboratories in developing countries. The program, called Strengthening Laboratory Management Toward Accreditation (SLMTA), was launched in July 2009 at a meeting in Kigali, Rwanda. Since the launch meeting, ASCP consultants and staff, along with CDC, have worked tirelessly to prepare for SLMTA implementation in Africa. more...
